Крушение биполярного мира вызвало значительные трансформации в стратегической и политической ситуации, в частности значительно затронуло страны АТР, привело к образованию в регионе так называемого «политического вакуума». В АТР с исчезновением биполярной конфронтации стали активизироваться внутрирегиональные процессы. Значительную роль в заполнении «вакуума» сыграла Ассоциация стран Юго-Восточной Азии, при непосредственном участии которой и стала формироваться новая архитектура в регионе.

The collapse of the bipolar system caused significant transformations in world’s political and strategic balance of powers, particularly had an impact on the Asia- Pacific nations and created “political vacuum” in the region. In Asia-Pacific crash of the bipolar confrontation stimulated internal processes. Mostly «vacuum» was filled by ASEANcentered new regional architecture.

Европейская ассоциация свободной торговли (ЕАСТ) была создана в 1960 году для формирования зоны свободной торговли.

Сегодня только Исландия, Норвегия, Швейцария и Лихтенштейн остаются членами ЕАСТ.

КНР и АСЕАН ведут официальный диалог с 1991 г. В декабре 1997 г. бывший председатель КНР Цзян Цзэминь принял участие в

саммите АСЕАН – Китай. На данном саммите была обнародована Совместная декларация саммита Китай – АСЕАН и определены

направление и принципы развития партнерских отношений добрососедства и взаимодоверия между Китаем и АСЕАН, ориен-

тированных на XXI в.

В состав АСЕАН-6 входят Бруней, Индонезия, Малайзия, Филиппины, Сингапур и Таиланд.

Совет сотрудничества арабских государств Персидского залива (ССАГПЗ) был создан в 1981 г. В состав совета входят Бахрейн,

Катар, Кувейт, ОАЭ, Оман и Саудовская Аравия. С 2005 г. переговоры о вступлении ведет Йемен. Подробнее см.: http://www.

Южноафриканский таможенный союз был основан в 1910 г. по Соглашению о таможенном союзе между Союзом Южной Африки,

Бечуаналендом, Базутолэндом и Свазилендом. С установлением независимости этих территорий соглашение было переутвер-

ждено в 1969 г. Союз, заключенный между ЮАР, Ботсваной, Лесото и Свазилендом, был назван Южноафриканским таможенным

союзом. Соглашение официально вступило в силу 1 марта 1970 г. После установления независимости в Намибии в 1990 г. она
