Дипломатические механизмы урегулирования спорных вопросов активно применяются как в рамках европейских международных организаций, так и в рамках азиатских. Превентивная дипломатия как основной дипломатический механизм нашла свое применение в рамках Регионального форума АСЕАН. За 15 лет работы Форума странам-участницам удалось добиться значительных сдвигов как по вопросам разработки элементов превентивной дипломатии, так и совершенствования реальных дипломатических шагов. В статье рассмотрены основные этапы формирования специфики и применения превентивной дипломатии в АРФ, а также позиции региональных держав по этому вопросу
