Evaluation of the Financial Market Role in the Development of the Real Sector of Russian Economy

The article provides analysis of modern conditions, tendencies and basic indicators of Russian financial market, defining its influence on the real sector of Russian economy. Special emphasis is laid on the quantitative evaluation of macroeconomic efficiency of the financial market as a vehicle of fund redistribution to the real economy.

Competition in the Russian Banking System:Illusion or Reality?

This article proposes a complex approach to estimation of the degree of competition in banking systems. The author emphasizes that ‘perfect competition’ cannot be reached in the banking sphere therefore it should not be regarded as a benchmark. The expression ‘competitive banking system’ is aimed to characterize the practical realization of ‘perfect competition’ which takes into account peculiarities of banking systems. The problem of conformity between the statistical and econometrical tools on the one hand, and our methodology on the other hand, is also considered. The most relevant of them are used in order to assess the degree of competition in the Russian banking sector.

New Religiosities: Sociological Reflections.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the main directions of the transformation of the modern institution of religion, the emergence of new types of religiosities, as well as the reformulation of views on religion and it role in the cultural transformations of the 21st century societies in the framework of the modern sociology of religion. The article develops the thesis that we are living in a "post-secular society", where religion is re-vitalized, de-privatized and increasingly influences behavior, politics, matters of the state and ethical debates in the public domain. In particular, the latest studies dealing with the current trends of “believing without belonging”, i.e. non-institutionalized beliefs - more informal ways of "belonging", virtual communities on the internet, civil religiosity and post-traditional spirituality are analyzed.

Political Framework and Legal Basis of the EU-Russia Security Co-operation

The security co-operation is a principal direction of the EU-Russia strategic partnership. The EU has developed the actual crisis management capabilities within the mechanism of the Common Foreign and Defence Policy, implementing at the moment thirteen missions all over the world. The enhancement of the role of the multilateral peace operations in the last decade provided opportunities for more intensive EU-Russia security co-operation. This study is focused on principles and geography of the eventual joint actions of the EU and Russia in the current political and legal framework.

Strengthening the Russian Image in the U.S. Society by the Non-Governmental Organizations

The article focuses on efforts of the Russian non-government actors in forging the balanced Russian image in American society. Russian-American relations have always been complicated and dependent on a number of economic and geo-political factors. With the rising role of the Internet media, social networks and individuals, involved in international relations, the process of creating a better and more balanced image of a country becomes multi-dimensional, uncontrolled and in a lot of cases dysfunctional.

Poland and the Newly Independent States.

Poland, due to its location, has historically combined it’s political priorities between West and East, longing for West to which it belongs culturally and preserving natural interest in its Eastern neighbors with whom it has traditional strong ties. Relations with Eastern neighbors have always been a very special part of Polish foreign policy, therefore the notion of Eastern Policy has emerged in Polish political life long ago. The accession to the EU has provided Poland with the whole range of opportunities to develop its Eastern Policy, promote it within the European institutions and using their capacities.

Preimage of an Illusion: Psychological Science on Management.

The article establishes the connection between basic associations, which arise around the term “control”, and the understanding of management as a controlling process. Two basic images are examined, seizure of objects by hand and control of the human organism by consciousness. History of the psychological research of the role of consciousness in the human psyche brings to the conclusion that the controlling role of consciousness is an illusion. But given that the image of consciousness as the controlling structure logically precedes the understanding of the process of social control, misconceptions arising from the former are transferred into management theories, despite being disproved by the psychological science. The article analyses the consequences of this transfer.

The article deals with the research of the theoretical framework for thestructure and operation of the constitutional legal mechanism of the Russian Federation external relations, its legal basis, forms and methods of the operation of the state authorities within its structure. The Author demonstrates that the efficiency of Russia’s external relations in the international arena, the successful implementation of the RF objectives in its international relations largely depend on the accurate and smooth operation of such mechanism.
